Port Douglas Marlin Challenge Results

The 2017 Port Douglas Marlin Challenge was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

The Calcutta 1st Prize money went to the Moana team which purchased themselves and the same applied to the Wild Turkey team which came in second place.

No offical 1,000lb fish were registered. MV Above Grade caught the biggest Marlin estimated at 950lb, whilst MV Kyrenia and MV Think Big lost fish estimated over the 1,000lb mark. 2012 Brendan Fairburn aboard MV Reel Impression caught an estimated 1000lb Marlin off Ribbon Reef Number 1. 2011 No confirmed 1000lb fish but a couple of skippers recorded 950lb fish. 2010 Matthew Dorrian aboard Mango Calypso estimated at 1100lb. 2012

Brendan Fairburn aboard MV Reel Impression caught an estimated 1000lb Marlin off Ribbon Reef Number 1.
